What ignited your passion for women’s health?
I never thought health was one of my interests, honestly. Science was never my favorite class in school and really wasn’t even on my radar.
However, I struggled with my own health ever since I first got my cycle and had a hard time finding relief. I was eventually, after years of doctor visits and different medications, diagnosed with endometriosis. In 2019 I started delving into holistic healing right before I had my first laparoscopy and I never went back!
My goal is to share everything I’ve learned, and everything I continue to learn, with other women who are also struggling with endometriosis, or any kind of hormonal imbalance. I’ve been able to heal my symptoms and no longer suffer on a daily basis, and I’d love for every woman to be able to say the same.
2: What is your favorite healthy recipe?
Oh wow what a loaded question! Lately I have been OBSESSED with Hidden Veggie Pasta.
I love this because you really can change it up every time to have a completely different flavor, and it’s delicious EVERY time. Bonus: it’s even better as leftovers. And we hate wasting food.
I usually just use whatever veggies I have laying around that are about to go bad (this is a great clean out your fridge recipe), but this is what I usually have on hand.
3: What is your favorite self-care ritual?
Oh my goodness, hands down a nice hot bubble bath with all of my favorite scents. I love lavender so I’ll run a hot lavender bubble bath with some essential oils, bubbles, and my candles going. I love to turn on some relaxing sounds - spa music, thunderstorm sounds if it’s not a stormy kinda day, and turn the lights off and just soak. I usually add in a face mask and mug of tea and just let my stress melt away.
4: Who inspires you?
I’ve thought on this for a long time and I don’t know that I can pick just one. I’m honestly inspired by my friends every day. Tabby is so intune with her own needs and seems to know all of the health fads and the details on their legitimacy. I strive to have her wealth of knowledge. Another great friend of mine, Rebekah, is constantly focused on advancing her career and achieving the next step. I hope to one day be so laser focused!
I think it’s so important to surround yourself with people who inspire you to be the best version of yourself. They definitely humble me on the daily and remind me that there’s always room for improvement!
5: What are you most excited about for the future of Mellow Belly?
Not to put the cart before the horse as they say, but I’m excited to see how we’re able to impact the holistic health community and the lives of our fellow women! I’m working on my 200-hour yoga certification currently and I’m pumped to add that to our repertoire and see how it can improve the lives of others. I know how much daily yoga practice helps my endo-journey and I can’t wait to share that knowledge with others.

What ignited your passion for women’s health?
I discovered my passion for coaching and teaching when I was young- from various church, school and sports opportunities. I first pursued the fitness realm and completed my Bachelors in Exercise Science back in 2019. The more I learned about fitness, the more I wanted to learn about all the factors surrounding health– and a more holistic approach became appealing. I am now working towards my Nutrition Certification and Behavior Change specialization. As concerns have come up for my own health, as well as the health of my friends and family, it started to shape my trajectory to specifically learn about Women’s Health and the power we hold to take our health back rather than settling for the norm– why not feel our best so we can do our best?
What is your favorite healthy recipe?
This really depends on the day- I simply cannot narrow it down. However, I will disclose my current obsession:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt
What is your favorite self-care ritual?
I don’t do this every day, but I can tell the difference on the days I miss it– a morning walk. It gets my blood pumping, the sun on my skin and the air in my lungs. I don’t even need music or a podcast. It’s my quiet time. I’ll listen to the birds, run through my gratitude list or focus on my breathing. I try not to mentally scroll through my upcoming day or tasks, but rather intentionally stay present in the moment and enjoy the movement.
Who inspires you?
There are so many amazing, brilliant and creative women that I have either befriended or followed on the ‘gram, who continue to inspire me to chase my purpose and passions. I am honored to be surrounded by so many beautiful minds and hearts. With that said, I have to give a special shoutout to my Mamaw- who continuously inspires the little scientist in me. She has always been so curious about her health and intune with herself- mind, body and spirit. While there is no perfect health, there is joy in the journey of wellness, and her joy is contagious.
What are you most excited about for the future of Mellow Belly?
Oh lord- we’re just getting started! I am most excited to watch our creativity take form and put action behind our big ideas. Kaitlin and I make an awesome team and we are excited to build a community, continue learning and find our niche in this big world of wellness! Currently, I am excited to challenge myself with learning more about content creation to bring life to some awesome recipes.
